Care/Maintenance

Gilera-Tuning-Page

Following pictures and discription of my newest tuning-work; a 750
Kawasaki-triple-engine (2-stroke, legend of 70ths),tuned to 95 HP,
with 34 mm-Power-jets, reed-valves, 7-port-Cyl. and Denco-pipes should
have a new "home"into a 125 cc Gilera KK!!!-Problem was leading of
chain; engine is 4 cm deeper than stock; I must build a new chain-
leading-shaft(no problem!), that chain not collided with swing-arm.
I have cuted the frame in front and build a new front-frame: my angle grinder
was smoking!! ...
I have a new angle grinder now!!

Frame is now ready, Sidestand is ready.
Engine is into frame.-
Now I have to add the finishing touches!

On the right side, the brake-cylinder was
outside!
You can see the open 3  34 Mikuni-Power-Jets
Chainleading was
nessesary because
engine was
placed 4cm lower!
Gilerasaki with
backframe

Engine is sitting very low, I will fix the pipes underneath the engine! Due to limited space, this will be a hard job!

Front fender must be cuted for air cooling!

Stainless-steel-
elbows are ready,
....Yes, we do have snow and 13°C below zero...!!!!!! (2006)
... Before ... After!!

Pipebuilding
As elbows, I taked stenless-steel-tubes and 45°-elbows, it was optimal, because the place was
very narrow! I had raw-material from Leo Molenaar (Holland) for a friendship-price! The
building of pipes was not simple; right was not a problem, but the middle pipe must before
rearwheel 45° outside and 25° high. Left side must before the middle-pipe 45°outside AND
45° ON TOP of the middle-pipe!!! Positioning of footrasts war a children`s play for it!!
Gilera-end-silencers are not too loud, it`s possible to go by  TÜV !
But a good Sound!!!

ONLY FLYING IS BETTER!!!
Hi friends, it´s January, 13th 2001 today ! At 14.30 is start of experiment, I put on protection-
combi (..I did`nt know what will happend!!), before I  maked some fotos of "Gilerasaki" and
hoped, after them no any ohter negativ-picture to see!!!! Put om helmet, handshoes, kick on,
Gilera started on 2. kick........wouuuhhh!!!!....a randy sound!!!!!!! warm up......choke out....
1. gear (...drag-race-clutch!!!!!!! attention!! Gilerasaki want to run ...)...slowly on street, first
2 kilometers slowly driving ( engine was after motor-crash 3 years sleeping, and new pistons
must first wake up!!)........So, now a little bits gas....hoppla...frontwheel go to heaven!!!!!

2. gear....hoppla.....the same!......3. gear,  frontwheel is on air again!!!!..........engine is warm,
Now I make a test for sprint; rolling start, because the frontwheel will never go down!!...
Acceleration want to pull  my arms out of my body!!!!!!!.......only hold strong the handlebar
and give gas!!!!!.....absolutly madness!!!!!!!!...........frontwheel go to heaven, you do`nt drive,
you be alltimes suspended!!!! .......it`s a great feeling!!!!!!..You must learn to drive alltimes
on the rearwheel, it`s not simple!!!- Weight is 57% on front and 43% on back!!- But you can

save a lot of front-tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then I drive some curves slowly by 140 Km/h: top-handling, no problems: deep position of
engine is good for handling!!! After some sprints contol of frame: no problem!! Not broken!
Chain is a little bits longer, O.K., was new, normal. Function of chain-leading is perfect.
Then some tests; runs like the Devil!!!!! Carburators are, because total open too poor; I must
take greater jets, then Gilerasaki will go better! ......better????????????.........crazy!
Then, clutch-cable is broken! By my clutch normal ( I  must rebuild for hydraulic!)
I can drive without clutch-cable too! Also, forward, alltimes, if I open the throttles: wheely!!
After a time is it a normal feeling! I drove some fast bikes in the past; dragster and other
fast bikes, but the Gilerasaki is the absolutly Hell! 95HP & 157 Kg, is good for over 250 km/h
I asked my wife for a run together, but she means it gave better methodes to die ( she knowed
that I had loost a passenger in the past by stop-light-sprint) (really!)......women!!!!!!...........
My anedralin-level is for today full and over!!!!! I roll to my garage and the first I need is a
schnaps!!!! My kneels are shaky!!!  To test the limit was alltimes my hobby!!......we have now
1/2 our later.....my kneels are shaky untill now!

Yes, Gilerasaki have steam enought (look picture) Thomas Ringholz was enjoyed
(you see him smiling)

When it will be warmer, I will go over 210Km/h, but before I must change the rear-sprocket,
that the front-wheel will not go so much in air! ( or a little bits lesser)

..a, yes, we have today 04.02.2001. Thomas Ringholz comes from "Elefantentreffen"
(yearly meeting of motocycles, middel in the winter, everbody know it!!!!worldwide!!)
Dinner, then carburators (with greater jets) mount, and kick on! Thomas eyes was
rolling...."uahhhhh what a compression!!!!!!" (yeah, that are the read-valves) Starting
Gilerasaki and warm up. "Uahhhh!!! Reaction for thottles are very fast!!!!!!!!" Then
1. gear....out....yes,yes..the race-clutch..... After 3. start goes Thomas to street and
raced some rounds. He came back with a smiling on his lips, what said; he had the
happyst moment on his life!!!! He said:"Killing-machine!!!!!"
Then, we maked a Born-Out for foto.-
Thomas was totaly enjoyed and said: "So fast is no any 4-stroker!!"
............. have a sticker on the right side:"Power, can it be a sin?"
I hope the cops will it aczept?
.....everytime the devise:"Ninjas, were are your???!!!"

Engine: `72 Kawasaki 750 cc-3-Cylinder-Engine, rebuild with reed-valves, 7-port-
timing, 34 mm Mikuni-Power-jets, mainjets 120 ( all ) , P-Jets: left 110, middle 100, right
90 (for temp.) Denco-pipes (rebuild) Original-Gilera-end-silencers with 24 mm Diam.,
Ignition: Original Kawasaki, 3,0 mm before DP, reed-valves carbon, 1:150 with
oil-pump (S1) + 1:150 in tank = total 1:75 with Agip 2000 racing-oil, full-synthetic!
I use this oil since 10 years or more, without problems and long distaces (Hungary,
Italy, Jugoslavia and so on)

....my next  project will be a 750-engine with big reed-valves directly into crankase
with 40 Amal-carburators, I think, is good for over 110 HP!!!
Your ( with 50 years) crazy Gottfried!
