RV 125 Tuning

Dear friends, I have now some time to write about my tuning-work!
You know that 2-stroke-tuning is my hobby!

I tuned on my RV 125 following:
Porttiming of Kawasaki KH 400/S3, (If you are interested, I can send it)
On inlet-side, I mounted a selfmaking reed-valve-system(see next capitle).
The original-air-filter would be removed for greater air-flow(K&N-Filter),
You can take porttiming of  Kawasaki 350/S2 too, but you will have then
lesser power in low-range!

Caburettor: Mikuni 28 of Yamaha RD 350 LC (4L0, `81)
Reed-valve & Rubber: RD 350 LC
Reedvalve-housing & adater: selfmade

Piston would be worked mit 2 holes on inlet-side, in the same position
as the added timing-ports!

Exhaust-modification:
Self-building-kit with self-building-
end-silencer with using of original RV 90-heat-shield!


Tank-modification: after removing original-oil-tank would
be changed for mix (oil/gas 1:75 Synthetic-oil) , oilpump removed
and so on.

A tank of Suzuki RM 125 would be mounted( with upholstery frame)
but there must be cuted left cover. I take a "T"-peace for gastube, so
I can use the Original-tank or the added tank ( never open both gas-
valves; the original-tank will flowing over!!!). Advantage is first; more
capacity......and you will have a better hight of drop!!!!! Importend
for better full  carburator! That is the absolutly problem by all RVs:
Standard; carburator have to less fuel (extremly, when you go on
montain, or tank is 1/2-full!, then mix will work smaller .....and you
have a hole in your piston! Added to this, I have exchanged the fuel
level-valve (XT500), that can go faster fuel into carburator.


Instrumentsrebuilding!
I have mounted instruments of GT 185, it`s like made for RV125!!!!
Holder for Ignition-key must be the same.....and works exaktly

Tank is look like original!
I mean power is there enought (15 HP) and bike have a good look!
For Example; I was last year in Dolomits: 115 Km/h before a curve, full-breaking,
driving trough, then sprint again to 115Km/h and so on. Max. Speed is 120 Km/h,
possible is more!
